We took the night train down to Ko Samui, and then jumped on a boat and journeyed over to the island of Ko Samui. Our first impression of Samui was a bit rough, as we landed in the port of Nathon. From there we hired another moto and headed off to find accommodation. After looking for about 2 hours we finally found the spot that Dave had seen on the internet, not 500 metres from the beach as the website promised. The owners, a odd French and Spanish couple, claimed that it attracted more people when they wrote that it was closer to the beach. Dave contracted diarrhea in Ko Samui, and without going into too much detail, he was feeling pretty poorly the whole time. We did however meet some cool people from Whitstable, UK, Tony (aka RixyBoy) & Fay and hung out with them a bit. We had a really good indian curry along Fisherman's Warf where Tony & Fay were staying for their last few nights. Dave tried to keep his best game face on despite having to go to the bathroom several times throughout the meal. While in Samui we also heard about the Olympics coming to England which was really good news excitment was lost by the next day due to the bombings. We found Samui nice, but it was kind of a let down after the beauty and charm of Bali.
