Time Well Spent. Our trip to Hong Kong was an exciting adventure with Ted and Silvie traveling around the city and even venturing into the New Territories. We loved the international feel and the British influence is still very prominent.
 Hong Kong Island

Hong Kong Island was fascinating with its incredible industrial architecture and its huge high rise buildings. It's also on a steep slope, so building here seems a little difficult. We found a weird escalator that took us up the hill through Soho to some really cool parks. People here seem very rich, or working for the rich. There are also a lot of really nice cars and most of the time they have drivers! Go figure... buy a really nice car and get someone else to drive it! Click for Pictures!

 Ocean Park
We both wanted to check out the new Disneyland but were recommended against it because the rides were not very good and it was still being developed. We made our way to another amusement park and it was quite good. It's spread out over a vast expanse of land and has two sections. The upper section is basically up on a hill top overlooking the south of Hong Kong Island and you take a gondola to get there from the lower part of the park. Of course they had a McDonalds there too. Ted and Dave went on the scary rides and we all enjoyed the Whiskers (the sea lion) show.
 Kowloon

Kowloon is a happening place with many different districts. Its main areas are Nathan Road, the boardwalk and the markets. It also has a myriad of museums, but unfortunately the day we planned on going to them, they were closed. We did get to go to the Space Museum and watch an OmniMax movie about F-15 fighter jets. It's not as western as Hong Kong Island, but still has all the shops and international conveniences. Prices in Hong Kong were surprisingly expensive and similar to back home. We were however able to find some good bargains and spend our budget!
